The electric piano overdrive you’ve been waiting for, only now it is in Stereo! Smooth and tube-like, it was designed to make your Wurly samples sound like the real thing, your Wurlitzer 200 sound like a Wurlitzer 100, and make your Rhodes bark like a Suitcase model!
The Wurly Grinder Stereo was designed to give tube-like grit and realism to modeled and sampled electric piano sounds. The stereo operation makes it ideal for digital pianos and stereo keyboard workstations.
It is a pair of gain staged preamps with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual as it adds compression and 2nd order harmonics. The lively top end adds a little sparkle.
How does it differ from the Organ Grinder? Wurly Grinder Stereo has a tighter bottom end, with a frequency response better tailored for Electric Piano.
The Wurly Grinder Stereo adds a ton of character to electric piano sounds, and adds a dynamic playability that makes it play and feel like the real thing!
From Greg:
“Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like an amp than a pedal, bringing to mind the tube power amp section of an overdriven electromechanical piano. As it easily adds high end sparkle, the Wurly Grinder Stereo also sounds awesome with guitar and other instruments. It is the ultimate way to add authenticity to sampled and modeled electric piano sounds” – Greg Lounsberry, Lounsberry Pedals
ABOUT GAIN STAGING:
Discrete preamps provide gain in several stages, so that a lot of what happens to provide the right amounts of drive and compression in a preamp is determined by how many discrete stages are employed, and their levels, determining how the stages interact.
